A £16 million project to rebuild Yorkshire Water’s biggest water treatment works in York will start in January.
Earth Tech Morrison will undertake the project at Acomb Landing designed to improve the quality of water supplied to about 100,000 people in west York and the city centre.
The work is set to be completed in March 2013.
The new works will be constructed on land alongside the existing complex, which dates back to 1846 and treats water from the nearby River Ouse.
