TWO second-hand stores joined forces to raise money for a children’s charity.
Dave Hampton 39, who runs the Past & Present second-hand store in Scunthorpe, and pal Tommy Buxton, 29, walked the 53 miles from their home town to York’s Banana Warehouse to raise cash for charity.
After leaving Scunthorpe, the duo stopped a night in South Cave, arriving in York the next day. When they arrived at the Banana Warehouse in Piccadilly they were greeted by owner Dave Dee.
So far the pair have raised more than £1,000 for the Magic Moments charity, which helps children with autism.
The Banana Warehouse also raised £100 by making a Dalek and charging customers to have their picture taken next to it.
