TWO metal thieves caught red-handed as they raided a disused Selby area mushroom farm have been fined.
A member of the public alerted police to the activities of Damian Uddin and Jamie Lee Milner, also known as Davies, on March 17, said Alan Mitcheson, for the Crown Prosecution Service at York Crown Court.
Police caught the pair as they prepared to drive off from Gateforth Mushroom Farm, Gateforth, with a van load of aluminium frames.
Uddin, 21, of Front Street, Castleford, and Milner, 21, of North Street, Fryston, Castleford, both pleaded guilty to theft and were each fined £250 with £500 prosecution costs and a £15 victim surcharge. Simon Batiste, for the pair, gave no mitigation after the judge indicated he would fine the pair.
