THE historic coalition of the Conservative and Liberal Democrat parties to form a stable government could provide a possible route out of the financial dilemma of this country.

If the proposed five-year life of a Parliament is approved, by legislation, the future of the Liberal Democratic party could change and be very different.

After five years working in unison with Conservatives in ministerial positions proved to be reasonably successful, and the Britain’s future becomes much improved, an election could mean some of the Liberal Democrats who have held fruitful ministerial posts may hope to remain and change allegiance.

Similarly those who voted “tactically”, which helped to produce the present result, may vote with their “hearts”.

In other words it is likely that there could be a smaller Liberal Democratic party with fewer seats in an election result and less likelihood of a “hung” Parliament.
