I WOULD like to thank you for raising awareness of the plight of the workers who have recently been made redundant by Jarvis Fastline.

I feel it is my duty to point out that there is another group of people who have been affected by the collapse of Jarvis – those who in the last year have taken voluntary redundancy; of which I am one (albeit one of the luckier ones).

All of us who took redundancy have been receiving our severance pay in monthly instalments and with the collapse of Jarvis have seemingly lost the money which is due to us.

As I highlighted, I am one of the luckier ones – I was made redundant last July and only had two instalments of my severance left to be paid; which in itself is still a considerable amount, in excess of £10,000.

Others have not been so lucky and have only taken voluntary redundancy in the last two or three months and stand to lose a significant amount of money promised to them as part of their severance.

I am unsure of the total number of former Jarvis employees who have been affected by this, but I know there is a number of us out there.
