FRIENDS of a York woman who has been missing for nearly two years have urged the public not to forget her.

Lisette Dugmore, of Clifton, has not been seen since she was captured on CCTV in York city centre on July 6, 2008.

Her friends have created a campaign group on the Facebook website as well as a poster campaign.

Jaedyn Taylor helped create the group which already has 280 members.

She said: “Lisette was much loved within the Clifton community. She regularly volunteered at the RSPCA and the people there miss her like mad, as does everyone who knew her.”

Jaedyn and friend Dawn Lambert decided to create the campaign after seeing the effect of the recent appeal for information on the disappearance of Claudia Lawrence, which saw members of the public provide police with new clues.

“At the moment, there’s only one poster in York asking for information about Lisette’s disappearance.

“We feel there are a lot of unanswered questions and are asking for the public’s help,” said Jaedyn.

Dawn, a friend of Lisette, said she hoped the campaign would refresh the public’s memory.

“I’ve spoken to Lisette’s family who said they are happy with the campaign. There’s not a day goes by they don’t think about her, so hopefully the posters will bring some new information,” she said.

“We’re looking for help getting the posters printed and hope to put them up around the city. We’ve also asked members of the group from around the country to print copies and put them up, as she might not be in York.”

Lisette is about 5ft 6ins tall, of slim build and was last seen wearing blue jeans and a blue fleece top.

A spokesman for North Yorkshire Police confirmed the investigation into Lisette’s disappearance was still open, but there had been no recent updates.
