THE boundary changes introduced for the 2010 General Election will see sweeping changes for voters across our region.

Here is an at-a-glance guide to how they will affect you:

YORK CENTRAL

Includes the Acomb, Clifton, Fishergate, Guildhall, Heworth, Holgate, Hull Road, Micklegate and Westfield council wards.

YORK OUTER

Covers the council wards of Bishopthorpe (including Acaster Malbis), Derwent (including Holtby, Dunnington and Kexby), Dringhouses and Woodthorpe, Fulford, Haxby and Wigginton, Heslington, Heworth Without, Huntington and New Earswick, Osbaldwick (including Murton), Rural West York (including Copmanthorpe, Askham Bryan, Askham Richard, Rufforth, Knapton, Hessay, Upper and Nether Poppleton), Skelton, Rawcliffe and Clifton Without, Strensall (including Stockton-on-the-Forest, Earswick and Towthorpe), and Wheldrake (including Naburn, Deighton and Elvington).

SELBY AND AINSTY

Replaces the old Selby seat. The rural fringes of York now fall within York Outer and are replaced by the wards of Marston Moor, Ouseburn, Ribston and Spofforth with Lower Wharfedale.

THIRSK AND MALTON

Sees huge changes as a result of the removal of the old Vale of York seat and the creation of York Outer. The new seat includes Easingwold, Helperby, Huby & Sutton, Shipton, Sowerby, Stillington, Thirsk, Tollerton, Topcliffe and Whitestonecliffe.

HARROGATE AND KNARESBOROUGH

Covers a much larger area and gains the wards of Killinghall, Claro and Boroughbridge from the Skipton and Ripon and Vale of York seats, as well as many rural villages to the east of Harrogate.
