CYGNET’S final pairing of Karen Richardson and Shona Benson gamed in 23 darts to secure victory at Clifton in division one of the York John Smith’s Ladies Darts League.

Clifton’s Carole Layne hit two 140s and a 121, while Judy Hall closed 72, but the home side were beaten 7-4.

Captain Bev Harton led the way for front-runners Cueball ‘B’ in their 7-2 victory at Ox, while Slip ‘B’ captain Carol Perrett teamed up with Babs Harrison to seal a 5-4 win over Flag ‘A’.

Slipper went down 7-4 to Acomb ‘A’ despite leading 4-2 going into the pairs, while Tiger’s final pair of Caz Broadberry and Ruth Howden secured victory over Slip ‘A’.

Division two leaders Beeswing trounced Tramways ‘A’ 10-1, with Lil Alexander and Debbie Forster staving off the whitewash.

Flag ‘B’ kept up the chase as Jackie Calpin and Jane Barnes sealed victory over Shepherd ‘A’.

Tap slipped back to third after a 7-2 defeat by Woolpack, while Tramways ‘B’ captain Diane Armer teamed up with vice- captain Rosie Hattee to snatch a win over Shepherd ‘B’.

Cueball ‘A’s Emily Fairclough hit the big scores but her side were edged out by Severus, with Michelle Blair and Mavis Gallimore securing the win.

Seahorse ‘A’ were 5-4 winners over Burton WMC, whose comeback came too late.

Sarah Clark was in inspirational form for division three leaders Seahorse ‘B’ as they beat Walnut Tree 7-2.

Second-placed St Paul’s were taken to the wire at Leeman ‘A’ before sealing a 5-4 win.

Kayleigh Thomas’ 140 helped Acomb ‘B’ to a 7-4 win over Swan, while Jubilee beat Shoulder 6-3.
