THE North Yorkshire Service Area representative rugby league teams drew a blank in their latest matches against Calderdale.

The under-15s took a deserved lead in the first half and looked to be in control but some determined defence kept them out thereafter and visitors Calderdale built pressure to score three tries and win 12-4.

The U14s, also playing at home, lost for the first time as they struggled to contain a well-drilled Calderdale side, who won 32-6.

Norths started well and took the lead through an Anthony Chilton penalty but Calderdale took the game to them to take command. Norths' try came from Tyler Dawson with the man of the match award going to York Acorn's Josh Peacock.

The U13s built a 12-0 lead in appalling conditions with tries from impressive duo Jacob Scales and Jamie Stuart and conversions from Eddie Bradshaw and Callum Hannigan.

But they allowed hosts Calderdale to equalise by the break and dominate the second half to run in 18 unanswered points for a 30-12 result. Norths man of the match was Joe Dey.

The U12s travelled with confidence after a hard-working display against Kirklees last week. However, the game had to be abandoned with Calderdale leading 12-4 after an injury to Norths' Karl Read.

Read is okay, with the injury not as serious as first thought.

York Acorn under-8s continued to improve in their game at Dewsbury Moor. Jamie Robertson was man of the match, scoring two tries in an even game. Matty Chilton (3), Charlie Murphy (2) and Shay North also got on the scoresheet.
