It put Cygnet on level terms in the singles as Kerr (140) and Janet Rogerson edged it for the home team before the Dot Dykes - Carole Layne pairing sealed victory.

Leaders Cueball 'B' had Tracey Farmeary (140, 2 x 100) and Tina Platt - Angie Hields both hitting double tons as they secured a 6-3 victory at Slip 'B'.

Leeman 'B' team's Toni Smallwood starred with two 100s for 23 but Blacksmiths' Bev Lawson - Dot Trousdale struck the winning blow.

Division two leaders Burnholme were pushed hard by Cygnet 'B', whose Tracy Billingham gamed 22 before the club side's Nikki Riley - C Salkeld sealed victory.

Holgate had Anne Smith playing and winning a lone hand pairs as they defeated Woolpack.

Sun 'A' duo Judy Williams - Maggie Jenkinson were the matchwinners against Shepherd 'B'. Clifton 'B' cleaned up in the pairs to dent Slipper's hopes of honours.

Leeman 'C' were taken to the wire by Tang Hall, whose Janice Storey - Ann Barker set up a decider for Shelagh Kenny - Wendy Thompson to securing Leeman the match.

The Judson trio - Chris, Julie and Nikki - kept Leeman 'D' on track for division three honours as they overwhelmed Acomb 7-2.

Linda and Carol Stubbs wrapped up Cueball 'A' team's win against visitors Leeman 'A' after good scoring from the club side's Joan Hunter.

Volunteer 'B' recovered from a 2-0 deficit to sink Britannia 6-3 and although Severus's Sheila Elliott closed bull, 21 from Karen Smith gave Cygnet 'A' momentum for a 6-3 victory.

Wizard Willsden in hot form

MICK Willsden hit a 180 and a 136 finish for a splendid 15-darter in the York Phoenix Monday Darts League division one match against Mitre.

Willsden's win gave Shepherd's an unassailable 4-0 lead, but Mitre took the last three, with Russ Greaves notching a maximum.

Ebor had Mark Hartley in good form with a 180 for 17 plus 17, while Tony Raymond supported with a couple of 17s.

Clifton got their season off to a winning start at Rose & Crown with a 7-2 victory which saw Lutz Leutzch game in 17 and 21, and Anthony Baxter added in 18.

Falcon lead division two after an 8-1 home win against Mount 'A' which saw Col Gibson fire a 21 darter for Falcon.

Britannia (Acomb) won 6-3 against Gillygate, who had Kelvyn Frankel out in 19 and Bob Lee in 20. Mike Harrison checked a 128 out-shot for 21 for the home side.

Slipper were 6-3 winners against Anchor, whose Steve Green had a 102 finish. Edward VII's Rich Pike gamed on 113 in their 6-3 win against Holgate WMC.

Despite an finishes of 80 and 87 from Neil Fairclough, Crescent lost 7-2 at Alice Hawthorn.

Day's best not enough

SHAUN Day played his best game of the season so far in the Minster Law Darts Individual League, but it was still not good enough to defeat Tony Raymond.

Raymond included legs of 15 and 16 darts to win 7-5.

Despite having a 4-2 advantage at the break, Lee Brundrett could not hold off Paul Cooper, who slotted in

legs of 13 and 15 plus three 180s to take the match 7-5.

Paul Calpin struggled against an in-form Keith Turner, going down 11-1. Despite taking the first two legs, Jon O'Mara was no match for Heath Scaife, who took all the remaining legs to win 10-2.

Mick Willsden included legs of 14 and 15 darts in his 9-3 victory against Paul Botterill.

Tackle Wolfie

The chance to take on England darts captain Martin 'Wolfie' Adams is the star prize York's Flag & Whistle pub are offering all-comers.

Adams will be playing at the pub on Tuesday, June 6 and the Flag are holding knockout competition nights this month on Fridays May 12, 19 and 26. The winners will play Adams next month.
