ST ALBANS City, Stafford Rangers and Oxford United have been confirmed as Nationwide Conference opponents for York City next season.

Hertfordshire side St Albans beat Histon 2-0 in yesterday's Conference South play-off final at Stevenage Borough.

Former Rowntree Mackintosh and York City striker Neil Grayson, meanwhile, was on target in Stafford's Conference North play-off triumph against Droylsden on Saturday.

The 41-year-old veteran opened the scoring on 33 minutes before Droylsden equalised despite being reduced to ten men when Kevin Lynch was sent off in the first half.

Grayson also scored Stafford's first penalty in a 5-3 shoot-out win after extra-time could not separate the two teams.

Another former Minsterman - Paul Groves - was an unused substitute for Stafford.

An Oxford team, featuring ex-City loan striker Tcham N'Toya, took their place in the Conference for 2006/2007 when they were relegated from the Football League after losing to Leyton Orient, who clinched promotion from League Two in the process.

St Albans, Stafford and Oxford will join fellow new boys Northwich Victoria (Conference North champions), Weymouth (Conference South champions) and Rushden and Diamonds (bottom of the Football League) in the Conference next season.

The Conference play-off semi-final first legs saw Halifax beat Grays 3-2 and Morecambe draw with Hereford over the weekend.
