POLICE are trying to trace a "shy and vulnerable" woman who went missing from her York home almost a month ago.
Susan Rosamund Brown, 56, known as Rosamund, was last seen by her landlady at her home in Copmanthorpe on April 17 and York police say they are now very anxious to trace her. She is described as white, about five foot four inches tall, of medium build, fair complexion, with short untidy greying brown hair, known to have dentures which she does not always wear.
PC Mark Antonelli, of York Police, said: "Rosamund is a shy and vulnerable lady who likes to keep herself to herself. It is out of character for her to go away without informing her landlady.
"She has previously frequented the Edinburgh and Scarborough areas and has shown an interest in possibly going to the Bridlington area.
"We are very concerned for the safety and welfare of this lady as she has never been missing for a long period of time before."
Miss Brown does not work and is not believed to have any family living in the area and her medical background is unknown.
Anyone who has knowledge of her whereabouts should phone North Yorkshire Police on 0845 6060 247.
