THERE was an acute sense of dj vu in the Civil Service ranks when, for the second week running their game ended in a draw with them just three runs short of victory.
David Suddaby and Tony Smith were their two tormentors whose all-round ability just gave Woodhouse Grange the edge in the draw. Suddaby made 49no and followed with 3-34 while Smith made 37 prior to taking 3-28.
Service skipper Simon Brown bowled well in taking 5-48 and Paul Wynn captured 3-80 as Grange made 152-9. In reply, Darren Hanley made 41 and Andy Luff 44 but Suddaby and Smith had another ally in Nick Barrett who took 3-47.
Youngster Robert Thorpe, on loan from Clifton Alliance. played his part for Service as, after bowling a tidy spell, he hit a boundary to help his side into the final over with four needed for victory and two wickets in hand. However a ninth wicket was to fall and Service saw their innings close on 150-9.
