HAMILTON Panthers lifted the York FA Acaster Steel Cup by beating Nestl Rowntree 4-0 in the final at Tadcaster.

The early pressure came from Charles Rice League side Panthers with both Danny Smith and Jamie Willstrop forcing the Nestl keeper, Joshua Chilton, to make outstanding saves.

Midway through the first half Nestl, who play in the Mitchell League, were awarded a penalty which was shot just wide of the post by Jacob Gore.

This spurred Panthers forward and a great ball from the left wing by Steve Barker was cracked into the Nestl net by Willstrop.

After spurning further chances Panthers went into a two-goal lead five minutes into the second half when man-of-the-match Willstrop netted his second goal.

Goals from Alex Dale and a cracking shot by Ryan Gothard completed the scoring. The presentations were made by David Purdy on behalf of the sponsors Acaster Steel.
