FANS have until this coming Wednesday to get their votes in for the Knights' Player of the Month for April.

The busy month comprised six games in total and although there was not a single National League One victory among them, with defeats to Widnes, Hull KR, Halifax and Rochdale, they did include two exciting cup wins, at Swinton in the Challenge Cup fourth round and against Dewsbury in the Northern Rail Cup second round.

Send your votes on email to peter.martini@ycp.co.uk or on a postcard to Knights Player of the Month (April), Sportsdesk, the Press, York, YO1 9YN.

Everyone who votes has the chance to win two free match tickets and the chance to present the victorious player with his award.

A BIG week for Peter Fox has ended fittingly with his getting onto the Press/Collier Plant Hire player of the year leaderboard.

Fox began the week with a man of the match performance in the defeat at Rochdale and signed a new week-to-week loan arrangement with the Knights in midweek, and has ended it with three player-of-the-year points courtesy of his top show at Spotland.

Jason Golden (2pts) was deemed by The Press to be the Knights' second-best player on the day and thus increased his lead at the top.

Last year's winner, Adam Sullivan, has been unlucky so far to not get on the leaderboard in defence of his title but does so this week with the remaining point.

The three extra points for topping the fan's Player of the Month vote for April will be counted in next week.

Latest standings: Golden 16pts, Elston 12, Law 8, Rhodes 7, Blaymire 5, Farrell 5, Hasty 5, Spicer 5, Buckley 4, Fox 3, Bates 3, Smith 3, Bovill 2, O'Loughlin 2, Wray 2, Sullivan 1, Forsyth 1.
