WITH regard to Arc Light, does City of York Council deliberately look to see how much money it can spend and, at the same time, kick the tourist yet again?

Union Terrace and St George's field car parks have already been decimated and the council is now considering building on yet another one.

Why build on a car park? They are like gold dust - I wonder which bright spark came up with that idea?

It is already mayhem in the summer and on bank holidays, why chase awayour visitors (upon whom York depends)? The queues at the hospital are a nightmare and, at the moment, we do have Union Terrace as an overflow, albeit a shadow of its former self.

What is wrong with the obvious solution of using an empty building, ie the White Swan Hotel or Bonding Warehouse?

Is that just too simple, easy, cost-cutting and sensible?

Middlethorpe Grove,
