IN response to Peter Evely (Letters, March 27), it appears there is one law for the motorist and one law for the highways department regarding obstructing the highway.
City of York Council has caused obstructions all over the city by installing road humps and chicanes. This not only causes obstructions, but also adds to air pollution.
It's strange that the motorist gets fined for causing obstructions yet Peter Evely gets paid a large salary to do likewise.
