A BRASS band concert in York is set to raise at least £500 for the Evening Press Guardian Angels Appeal.
The concert will take place at the Railway Institute, in Queen Street, at 7.30pm, on Friday, April 21.
It is being organised by the York RI Band section, with contributions from the York RI Golden Rail Band and the York RI Brass Club.
"There will be a grand finale by the massed bands, refreshments will be available and a raffle will be held," said spokeswoman Jenny McNeil. "Tickets are available from band members, or on the door, for a donation of £4, with no concessions."
She said it was hoped the concert would raise the profile of the Brass Club, which was a beginners group to which anyone could come to learn a brass instrument.
Jenny said: "We supply instruments and tuition. It is held on Wednesday evenings in the Railway Institute Band Room, from 6.30pm to 8pm. Both children and adults are welcome.
"For information about joining, phone Malcolm Smurthwaite on 01904 624810."
The appeal aims to raise £300,000 to pay for a high dependency unit for children at York Hospital.
