A NEW Market Weighton Business And Skills Development Centre will open on Wednesday.
Terry Hodgkinson, chairman of Yorkshire Forward, the regional development agency, along with members of East Riding of Yorkshire Council and members of the European Regional Development Fund, will formally open the building.
The group will then travel to Bridlington to meet the town's Regeneration Partnership to view the new joint £12 million funded project at the Bessingby Industrial Estate, Bridlington Spa.
Coun Stephen Parnaby, leader of East Riding of Yorkshire Council, and responsible for economic generation, said: "Having a strong and positive working relationship with both funding bodies is good news for residents and the local economy.
"The council has worked extremely hard to maintain this and attract investment into the East Riding. Being recognised for doing this can only be a positive step forward."
The new business centre at Market Weighton will cater for small to medium enterprises and the further investment at Bridlington targets an urgent need to develop small office or workshop type accommodation. The council has helped around 400 start-up businesses in the past two years.
