YORK City striker Andy Bishop has been shortlisted for February's Nationwide Conference Player of the Month award.

Bishop, 23, has shot to the top of the Conference goal charts after scoring in each of the Minstermen's four matches last month, culminating in a hat-trick during the 5-1 victory against Forest Green Rovers on Saturday.

The 20-goal forward's rivals for the award are Paul Mullin (Accrington Stanley), George Boyd (Stevenage Borough), Andy Williams (Hereford United) and John Grant (Halifax Town).

Minstermen fans can assist Bishop in his bid to win the award by casting their vote on web-site www.footballconference.co.uk

Former City striker Neil Grayson, now 41, is also one of the Conference North candidates for his February performances at table-topping Stafford Rangers.

Meanwhile, City directors Jason McGill and Sophie McGill attended a Football Foundation meeting at London's Gloucester Square yesterday.

The meeting was called to discuss the Minstermen's failure to pay the first £100,000 instalment of their £2million loan last month.

City officials declined to comment to the Evening Press on the meeting.
