YORK Acorn's old foes, Hunslet Warriors, are facing a National Conference League inquiry after having a game abandoned for the second time this season.
Warriors' home division one game with Rochdale Mayfield was ended by the referee 25 minutes into the second half after Mayfield forward Peter Chrimes was sent-off for a late tackle and an incident erupted as he left the field, allegedly involving players and spectators.
Warriors, who were leading 18-8, had earlier seen full-back Scott Walker sent off for a trip after just five minutes.
The Warriors' game away to Acorn earlier this season was abandoned when the referee was allegedly abused by visiting fans. Acorn were leading 12-8 at the time.
Conference officials decided against taking action over this matter, except for ordering a replay of the match.
