As a tenant of Selby District Council, I would like to say how much I agree with Councillor Doreen Davis when she says the council likes to waste public money (Waste Of Money, January 27).

If the money it was wasting had to come out of the members' own pockets to promote the council house transfer to Town and Village Housing they might think twice about spending anything.

Why it is that people are blaming Labour councillors when all the time it is down to the Conservative-run council that is pushing for the council house sell-off?

Council leader Mark Crane said the council had no choice but to send out multiple copies of the document as anybody who is named on the tenancy agreement should receive a copy.

Surely all he needed to do was to send out one copy of the document to each address and naming each tenant who is named on the tenancy agreement. That way only one copy would have been sent to each council-owned dwelling.

With regard to the council staff asking which way tenants are going to vote, well, in my case, they did not ask me directly, but, after asking the questions, the questioner said to me "I take it from your attitude you will be voting not to sell". It was obvious if you answered all the questions you not could help but indicate which way your vote was going to go.
