Robert Winston is the jockey to have on your side at Southwell tomorrow.

The York-based rider, eagerly looking ahead to the start of the turf campaign in March, which offers him another chance of bidding for championship honours, has a good book of mounts and has every chance of chalking-up three winners.

He can get the ball rolling aboard Cookie Cutter in the Betdirect Freephone Maiden Stakes. Karl Burke's four-year-old has been placed in both her races this season and was beaten by less than two lengths into third place by Sands Crooner over five furlongs at Wolverhampton on his latest outing. Tomorrow's extra furlong should suit her.

Noble Edge can be another winner for Winston in the First Past The Post At Betdirect Selling Stakes. Trained at Norton by Robert Gray, the three-year-old has shown consistent form on the all-weather surface, chasing home Crush On You over this course and distance last time.

Golden Square can complete a successful day for Winston by landing the Play Now At betdirectpoker.com Handicap over a mile.

Tony Carroll's charge won on this course last week and a 6lb penalty may not prevent him completing a double.

In the £20,000 Littlewoods Betdirect Handicap over five furlongs, The Lord is napped to follow up his recent success over the same course and distance when he beat After The Show and Desperate Dan, who takes him on again tomorrow.

At Warwick, Nice Try should not be overlooked in the Drive Vauxhall Leamington And Vauxhall Leasing Handicap Chase.

Venetia Williams's gelding has finished in the frame in all his three starts this season and is dropped back in trip tomorrow after appearing not to stay two and threequarter miles at Folkestone last time. That race was in a novices' hurdle and the switch to fences tomorrow makes Nice Try an interesting proposition.
