With winners to his credit on each of the last two days, Mick Easterby can continue the trend at Catterick tomorrow.

The Sheriff Hutton trainer, successful with Spitfire Sortie at Newcastle on Monday and with Bang And Blame at Sedgefield yesterday, can follow up with Gohh in the WL And Hector Christie Memorial Trophy Novices' Handicap Chase.

Thomas Greenall, as usual, takes the mount on Gohh, who had spent a long time in the wilderness until returning to some sort of form lately.

A creditable second to Longdale at Sedgefield on Boxing Day (beaten by only three-parts of a length), the ten-year-old is napped to go one better tomorrow.

Virgin Soldier could be the answer to the catterickbridge.co.uk Handicap Chase over an extended three miles.

A good servant over the years, on the Flat and over jumps, Virgin Soldier has been lightly raced during the last 18 months but there was much to like about his third-placed effort behind Robbo on this course on his most recent start.

With Tony Dobbin in the saddle, Virgin Soldier, tackling the same distance tomorrow, should be hard to beat.

County Durham trainer Howard Johnson, who has his horses in good nick, can have success on this card.

Balyan, a former useful horse on the Flat, is fancied to make a winning debut over jumps in the Halifax Novices' Hurdle, while Astarador can oblige for Johnson in the Huddersfield Intermediate National Hunt Flat Race after a solid first effort to finish second at Wetherby on his debut.

At Southwell, Middleham-based jockey Greg Fairley, whose career took off during the latest turf season, is worth following as he bids to complete a first and last race double.

Fairley, who is attached to Mark Johnston's yard and who has recently had a short spell in Dubai, can land the opener on the John Harris-trained Tag Team (12.40) and follow-up aboard Chris Dwyer's Mister Incredible (3.40). Both horses are recent course winners.

York-based Robert Winston has double prospects. He is reunited with Spitting Image, trained by Mark Johnston, in the Play Now At betdirectcasino.com Handicap and can steer the rejuvenated six-year-old to a third consecutive success.

Waterloo Corner, returning from a break, is a less obvious looking potential winner for Winston, but Ray Craggs' four-year-old would only need to reproduce the best of his form last term to play a strong hand in the Daily Offers From Betdirect Maiden Stakes.

It is a while since Flint River won, but the step back up to seven furlongs in the Betdirect Freephone Handicap should suit Hughie Morrison's gelding, who will be ridden by able apprentice Travis Block, good value for his 5lb allowance.
