The battle for York Monday Phoenix Darts League division one supremacy at the Cygnet went to the 'B' team.

They led 3-1 before Paul Cooper weighed in with legs of 17 and 20 to clinch the win, while Ali Wray and Craig Wedge added maximums for a 7-2 scoreline. Pete Leake was best for the 'A' team with 20.

Acomb had 16 from Stu Morton while Mick Harris hit a 180 for 18 and Martin Cooper included a bull finish in their 8-1 victory at Flag 'A', whose Paul Calpin notched a maximum.

Clifton left from Rose & Crown with an 8-1 win. Steve Simpson closed on 102 for 21 and Anthony Baxter gamed in 22 darts.

A 20 from Shaun Day secured Acorn's win, although Huntington WMC took the rest with Phil Good out in 22.

In division two, Mitre recorded an 8-1 win against Old Ebor to strengthen their second place position. Kev O'Hara was outstanding with 16 after including a 180 in a 22-dart 701 leg with Liam Pearson. Russ Greaves backed him up with 22.

Angel & White Horse won 6-3 at Crescent with a maximum and 19 from Mick Harris, a 116 finish for 18 from Geoff Kitson and 21 from Col Gibson.

Slipper lost 7-2 at Britannia despite a 19 from Paul Partridge, while Kelvyn Frankel had a two-dart 100 finish for 20 and Sean Robinson had 19 and 22-darters as Edinburgh won 7-2 against Health Service Club.

Division three leaders Holgate beat Flag 'B' 7-2 to go ten points clear at the top, while Keith Elliott was Blacksmith's last-game winner against Phoenix.

Alice Hawthorn's beat York City Social Club 7-2 with Pete Hill hitting a maximum, while Post Office Club's Arthur Scott included a maximum for 22 against Lord Nelson's Paul Hill, who also included a maximum.

Jayne Janes included a maximum in her game as Cueball 'B' were prevented from a clean break by Flag's Sarah Jackson in their York John Smith's Ladies Darts League division one match.

Tracey Farmeary hit four ton-plus scores for the clubside.

Sophie Simpson, Diane Moreland and Carol Perrett were all double-ton scorers for Slip 'B' but Wenlock produced the match-winning doubles for a 7-2 scoreline.

Denise Fowler-Maggie Bedingham, Shepherd 'A' captain and vice captain, won the decider at Leeman 'B', whose Toni Smallwood hit the tons.

Cygnet 'C's final pairing of Carole Layne-Judy Hall also secured them victory at Clifton 'A'. Sue Tate and Karen Alton starred in Tramways' 7-2 beating at Blacksmiths.

Shepherd 'B' went joint-top of division two with Tang Hall WMC after a 6-3 win against Leeman 'C'.

The club side had the Ann Barker-Janice Storey partnership sealing victory at Slipper, whose Doreen Johnstone hit the tons.

Sun 'B' took the first two games before Woolpack's Doreen England kick-started their winning run, while Debbie Benson threw 23 then a match-winning last pairs from Clifton 'B's Linda Embleton-Jayne Ruane clipped Cygnet 'B' wings.

Burnholme came out on top at club rivals Holgate. Sun 'A' had Maggie Jenkinson hitting the tons as they toppled Jubilee 'A' 6-3.

In division three, Cueball 'A' recovered from a 4-2 deficit at Leeman 'D', as Joan Hunter hit 140, 2x100 in her games and partnered Barbara Johnson to secure the match.

Volunteer 'A's Jan Welby closed on bull in the winning pairs with Donna Lynes at Jubilee 'B'. Tap ran out 6-3 victors at Volunteer 'B' and Britannia cruised to a 7-2 win against visitors Leeman 'A'.

Acomb's victory was gained in the final pair through Mary Thomas-Rose Archer after Glynnis Simpson-Mavis Galli-more had put Severus level.
