YORK RUFC will be looking to build on their battling performance in the Intermediate Cup against Morley when they face unbeaten Sheffield Tigers at Clifton Park.

After the disappointing loss against Pontefract in their last Yorkshire One outing, a win tomorrow would put their challenge for promotion back on track.

The Clifton parkers make two changes to the side that faced Morley, top try-scorer Billy Cankatabula comes on to the wing in place of Nathan McBride, who drops to the bench while Matt Halifax partners James Rossington in the second row in place of unavailable Brad Macdonald.

Kiwi hooker Jon Sharpe makes a welcome return to the squad after injury and unavailability kept him out for several weeks. He will be on the substitutes' bench alongside Yorkshire Under-19 prop Darren Rutherford.

Selby's young wing forward Ben Aked makes his first XV league debut against Bridlington at Sandhill Lane after impressing in recent weeks.

With both Andy Gabel and Martin Protheroe both unavailable, Selby are forced into a major re-organisation of their back division.

Martin Bramley comes into the side at full-back with skipper Toby Pemberton switching to partner Shaun Austerfield as the other centre. Simon Hall and Rich Topping are the wingers. Paul Gabel starts at prop with Richard Fuller on the bench. Second-row forward Rob Triffitt starts on the bench and is replaced by Mathew Mills. Wright Phillips switches to flanker with Kevin Lowery starting at No 8.

Despite doing the double over Bridlington last season, Selby will be underdogs tomorrow.

Pocklington hope to get their Yorkshire Two season back on track when they entertain Leodiensiasn at Percy Road.

Pock have slipped to fourth place, but Leodiensians are next to bottom. However, although the Leeds side have been underperforming in the league, they have shown a marked improvement in cup games, including reaching the fifth round of the Junior Vase with a convincing win over Barnsley last Saturday.

Pocklington hope to have skipper Matt Atkinson back to lead the side after being unavailable and resting a knee strain last week.

York RI coach Nick Humphries will be spoilt for choice against Thornesians at New Lane.

He welcomes back six players to the squad which pulled off a great win at Skipton last week. Thorne are just a point above RI so it promises to be a tight Yorkshire Three battle.
