YORK RI 'A' stormed back in convincing manner after losing to their 'B' team in Division One of the NEDL York and District Table Tennis League.

Jill Rounce put them to the sword with three wins in the 'B' team's 7-3 victory, but the RI first string bounced back to wallop Groves WMC 'A' 9-1.

Holgate WMC 'A' edged out Sessions 'A' 6-4 in a tight tussle which saw no player dominate. Mick Willcockson won a couple of games for Sessions while John Farmery and Graham Hatfield won twice each for Holgate. Bootham CC 'A' team's 8-2 victory over Groves WMC 'B' included three wins each by Paul Eastwood and Jon Wooldridge.

Mark Hughes and Mick Cooper steered Poppleton 'A' to a 7-3 win over Sessions 'B' in Division Two but luckless Greg Price won all his games as University 'A' lost 7-3 to Nestl Rowntree 'A'.

Tim Smith and Trevor Wright were too good for Holgate WMB 'B' as York RI 'D' won 7-3. Richard Ingleby and Jo Suchecki each won three times as Bootham CC 'B' defeated York RI 'C' 7-3.

Steve Milner was unbeatable as Bootham CC 'C' won 7-3 against York RI 'E' in Division Three.

Graham Perrin's three wins could not stop Northern Electric going down 6-4 to Poppleton 'C' Another undefeated player to finish on the losing side was Jim Stevenson of BT 'B' who lost 6-4 to their 'A' team.

Shepherds 'D' continue to set bthe ace in Division Four. Poppleton 'D' became their latest victims with Mick Surtees winning all his games in a match score of 7-3.

Dom Ainge was the star of a 6-4 Division Five victory for York RI 'G'over Holgate WMC 'D'.

University 'B' continued their good form in Division Six with an 8-2 success over Norwich Union 'B' which saw Marieke Gernay and Tom Coleman each win three times.
