NEW Earswick ARLC maintained their 100 per cent winning start to Pennine League division one by thrashing Victoria Rangers 46-6.
It was a fine nine-try display by the York side, who included six teenagers in the starting line-up and will be able to add another to that list as Tom Hodgson is returning to the club from Heworth under-18s.
All the damage was done in the first half as the All Blacks raced 34-0 ahead, while former York Wasps hooker Alan Pallister was the main man in the second period as he scored two tries to complete a hat-trick.
Player-coach Pallister opened the scoring on three minutes by dummying over, and tries followed at regular intervals until the interval.
Scrum-half Ben Jones and winger Chris Spain broke superbly to set full-back Tom Dunmore up for a debut try, before teenagers Daryl Fogg and Dean Smith twice combined for winger Smith to get a quick double.
Stand-off Liam Gargan's fine pass put Carl Pallister through and, in the two minutes before half-time, Jones dummied over and then sent Mick Harrison in following a Dunmore break.
The second half was scrappy, with Rangers getting their consolation converted try before Pallister completed his treble. Jones converted both to total five goals.
All Blacks second-row Rowan Wallace-Hills was the man of the match, with Alan Pallister and Jones also outstanding.
York Acorn 'A' put up a battling display in division three and came close to an upset before losing 26-22 to high-flying Elland 'A', while Selby Warriors found leaders Littleborough too hot to handle in a 30-4 result in division four.
