FORMER York City Knights captain Chris Levy has admitted he will face an "interesting" scenario when he comes up against his old club next season.

The Aussie, who lifted the National League Two trophy for York last season, will tackle the Knights in NL1 next year having signed a one-year deal for rivals Doncaster Lakers following his release from Huntington Stadium.

And not only will he then meet his old team-mates and fans, he will also come up against his new house-mate.

"I'm looking forward to it," he said. "I've just moved in with Lee Paterson so there will be an interesting rivalry there."

Levy, who follows Yusuf Sozi and Chris Ross in making the switch from York to Belle Vue, added: "It's taken a while to get things sorted at York (as regards a contract settlement) but I'm happy to have a club sorted, and it's in the First Division.

"I'm hoping to have a successful year. Last year was successful and I want another, though it's going to be a tough season with three or four teams full-time.

"Yusuf and Rossy have gone to Doncaster from what I've read, which is good, but the club have not signed any big-name players and apparently it's a rebuilding year so if we survive relegation and get up towards the top six play-offs it will be good.

"It's a realistic goal for Donny. They made the semi-finals this year and I believe they can get there again."
