ON the subject of the recent lighting display on the West Front of York Minster, I can't agree with the reader who says it was too "gaudy" although I did not seen it lit up in person (being older I don't venture into town at night any more).
I have seen pictures in the Evening Press and think it looks wonderful, bringing out parts to the eye that are not as obvious without the lights.
It's a pity it can't be lit up all year round.
