It'll be the early bird who catches the worm tomorrow.

Forget to change your clocks back tonight and the chances are you'll be an hour behind the action tomorrow, which, predictably, kicks-off an hour earlier than usual, which will become the norm for the remainder of the winter.

Hayley Turner and Saleem Golam are clock-watching for a different reason at present. The pair are locked in battle at the head of the apprentices' championship, with just one week to go before the title is decided on the final day of the Flat turf season.

Tomorrow, the two of them go head-to-head at Lingfield in the opening betfair.com Apprentice Handicap, with Turner teaming-up with Whippasnapper and Golam on board Kensington.

Both horses are in excellent form, but Turner may just have the edge on Whippasnapper, a creditable second to Bollin Billy over six furlongs on his latest start. Tomorrow's extra furlong is expected to promote the John Best-trained gelding to the number-one positon.

Nap selection Zowington makes plenty of appeal in the betfredcasino.com Handicap. Chris Wall's gelding comes into battle in great heart after producing a sterling effort to win a competitive handicap at Newbury on his latest outing. He is selected to follow-up.

The £30,000 Unicorn Fleur de Lys Fillies' Stakes is the richest race on the card, and Zayn Zen may prove the answer.

Michael Jarvis's charge ran a fine race in defeat in Listed company on her latest outing at Newmarket, only weakening out of contention over the ten furlongs in the closing stages. Tomorrow's return to a mile should be ideal for her.

In the £12,500 Unicorn Free Spirit Handicap over two miles, Escayola deserves plenty of respect.

The William Haggas-trained gelding was only outpointed in the closing stages of the Cesarewitch at Newmarket. Unproven on this Polytrack surface, there's no reason why he won't act on it, especially over two miles, arguably his optimum distance.

Jumping enthusiasts have plenty to look forward to at Carlisle, where Nigel Twiston-Davies may prove the trainer to follow.

The Gloucestershire handler, who has his horses in excellent form, can land both divisions of the Racing UK Channel 432 Novices' Hurdle with Best Profile (12-45) and No Guarantees (1-20).

Sunday's tips:
