Cottage Inn overturned a half-time 3-2 deficit to beat Dunnington 5-4 and bag their first York and District Sunday Afternoon League points.
Ben Brown, Nick Robinson and a Chris Turpin double took Dunnington close, but Cottage Inn's heroes were Paul Gray, John Goliger (2) and Gary Rylance (2).
Goals by Daniel Foxton and George Cooper were not enough for Wills Bar as Turf got four, care of Gavin Clark (2), Daniel Barrett and an own goal.
A penalty just before half-time got the ball rolling for an exciting comeback in a nine-goal encounter between Clifton and St John's College. The students were leading 2-0 when Terry Taylor converted from the spot for the first of six Clifton goals.
Also on the score sheet in the 6-3 win were Paul Bedingham, Richard Bedingham, James Barnes, serial scorer Kevin Butler and an own goal.
In division two, Drum beat Gimcrack 2-0 with Stephen Moore and Russell Goodwin on target.
Dunnington Reserves kept their 100 per cent league record after five second-half goals - including a hat-trick for Joshua Tattersall - gave them a 6-1 win over Winning Post.
Jason Lapite scored for Post but Matthew Cowan, Anthony Downing and Paul Gordon easily cancelled it out.
