EVEN the size of City's attendances is eagerly anticipated this season as each home match brings the promise of another 3,000-plus.
City supporters' group Jorvik Reds are now providing another reason to get excited when the club's home crowd is announced at KitKat Crescent.
A "Guess the Attendance" competition will now be run by the Jorvik Reds, aimed at raising funds for the Supporters' Trust to help meet the Football Foundation loan re-payments.
It will cost £1 per entry with 50 per cent of the proceeds going to the winner and the remaining 50 per cent split equally between the Trust and the Jorvik Reds.
The entrant who guesses correctly, or is the closest within 20, will receive the prize but if there is not a winner then the fund will roll-over to the next home game.
Fans can enter by a variety of ways. There will be sellers in local pubs, outside the Social Club and at the ground on match days.
Entry forms are also available from the club shop during the week from 10.30am to 2.30pm or an estimate and cheque, made payable to Jorvik Reds, can be sent to Jorvik Reds, c/o Benjamin Fellows, 14 Coggan Way, Bishopthorpe, York, YO23 2QX along with a contact telephone number or e-mail address.
Volunteers are also being sought to hand out entry forms and anybody interested should e-mail admin@jorvikreds.co.uk with a name and address.
Winners of the competition will be announced on www.jorvikreds.co.uk the day after a match and contacted by phone or e-mail.
