NEIL Redfearn's first game in charge as caretaker-manager of Scarborough is a six-pointer against fellow Nationwide Conference strugglers Aldershot at the McCain Stadium.

"Obviously it's a big game in more senses than one and if we win we will be off the bottom of the Conference," said Redfearn, who took over this week from the sacked Nicky Henry.

Redfearn said: "My opinions are different to those of Nick Henry's and that is the natural way of things in football.

"But I shall give the present squad the chance to show that they care about the club and to prove to me that they have the ability to lift us up the table. But I think it is inevitable that there will be some new faces coming in if I get the job on a permanent basis and can work things out with the chairman."

Paul Foot starts a two-match ban after being sent off in last week's 1-0 FA Cup defeat at Harrogate Town. He has clocked up five cautions.

However, Redfearn welcomes forward Chris Hughes into the squad for the first time this season after coming through a reserve game on Wednesday since recovering from a foot injury
