NEIL Redfearn, caretaker manager of beleaguered Scarborough, has added experience to the McCain Stadium set-up with the appointment of Eric Winstanley to the coaching staff.
Former Barnsley boss Winstanley, who has been scouting for York City, was connected with the Oakwell club for 40 years and knows Redfearn well.
Redfearn, who this week took over from the sacked Nick Henry, knows that he has a big job on his hands.
He said: "Things are going to change because they have to change. Football is all about opinions and my opinions differ to Nick Henry's and what I shall be looking for from the players is a battling performance against Aldershot on Saturday.
"It is a massive game for this club and the players have got to show me that the five defeats we have had on the bounce are behind us and we can kick the season on from here.
"Eric will be an extra pair of eyes for me and he is a well respected coach in the game."
Winstanley said: "Obviously it is only a temporary measure until we know whether Neil is to get the job on a full-time basis - but we worked together at Barnsley and I have no doubt that Neil has a bright future in football management."
