PART-TIMERS Canvey Island will arrive at KitKat Crescent tomorrow on the back of their longest unbeaten run in the Conference.

Prolific striker Lee Boylan will also be in tow and experienced former Tottenham, Port Vale and Brighton midfielder Jeff Minton will return to the starting line-up after a one-match ban.

Boylan made a surprise appearance for Canvey, who have won two and shared the spoils in four of their last six matches, in Saturday's 1-1 home draw with Altrincham.

The former West Ham trainee has recovered more quickly than expected from a groin operation that had seen him sidelined for six matches and, before the injury, he was the Conference's leading marksman on five goals, although his striking partner Keize Ibe has helped plug the gap in his absence with four hits.

Minton will replace John Kennedy in the Essex club's midfield after picking up a one-game suspension himself for deliberate handball on the stroke of half-time against Altrincham.

Elsewhere, Canvey have defensive headaches with Steve Ward (groin), Stuart Bimson (hip) and Dominic Sterling (hamstring) all facing late fitness tests.

Canvey manager Jeff King, who has seen his side hold well-fancied trio Hereford, Stevenage and Woking during the six-game unbeaten run, is expecting a tough, but not insurmountable, test at KitKat Crescent.

He said: "We will go there with a lot of respect because of what they have achieved but we have also achieved some good results against teams expected to be there or thereabouts. It will certainly be a tough challenge as York are obviously a much stronger side than last year and it will be a good test of our fitness levels as well."
