YORK council's much publicised crackdown on litter droppers in the city is obviously not getting across to all.

On Monday at about 5.35pm, as I drove across the Water Lane/Clifton Green junction, a First bus No 23 was at the head of the line at the traffic lights coming from Clifton Bridge.

I saw the driver of that bus casually drop a crisp packet out of his window on to the road below.

The packet was red so I presume they were Walkers plain variety. The driver was male aged about 25 to 35 and appeared unshaven.

I have ridden on First buses that have the laminated Litter Warning on display attached to the back of the driver's cabin.

Is it in the wrong place, and thus are the drivers unaware of it?
