A North Yorkshire entrepreneur's planned "log cabin village" at a golf course has generated huge demand - even before the structures are built.

Phil Hancock, of Playgolf, has completed nine of the 43 luxury log cabins he intends to build in woodland at his 18-hole Bridlington Links.

Already 21 buyers have marked their plots for their new accommodation, which will have two bedrooms, both en-suite, with an open-plan lounge, dining room and kitchen, at prices between £140,000 and £180,000.

The price includes lifelong membership of the £450-a-year golf club

Mr Hancock, 59, intends to continue building over the winter in the certainty that all the log cabins will be occupied

NatWest has funded the the holiday village, which is part of a £5 million development plan for the golf course, including conversion of a farmhouse into a new 19-bedroom hotel, starting next March, plus swimming pool and gymnasium, starting in January 2007.
