Selby Town got back on the winning track in the Northern Counties East League premier division with a 4-1 demolition of bottom club Brodsworth at Flaxley Road.

The Robins went ahead after five minutes when Adam Wash curled a shot against the bar and defender Andrew Dawson knocked in the rebound but Brodsworth equalised on 23 minutes as Neil Towler scored from 25 yards.

Selby took control of the second half and regained the lead just after the break when the visitors failed to clear a cross and Wash scored from close range. Dominic Graham soon put Tom Matthews through and he calmly beat the keeper. The Robins scored their fourth on 79 minutes when a thunderbolt 35-yard free-kick from Andy Hart proved too powerful for the Brodsworth keeper, the result lifting Selby into the top six.

A strike either side of half-time sent Harrogate Railway into the top five with a 2-0 defeat of Glapwell.

Ryan Haigh put the Rail ahead at Station View on 35 minutes before Chris Howarth killed the game off three minutes after the interval.

Pickering Town slipped to ninth after their good away start came to an end at Armthorpe Welfare.

The Pikes had been unbeaten in their opening four games on the road, but a single Gary Jones goal consigned them to a first defeat on their travels in a campaign which has so far seen just two games at home.

Promoted Goole are finding the going in the UniBond League tough after being on the receiving end of a 4-0 home thrashing by Stocksbridge Park Steels. Ben Walker banged in two inside three minutes before half-time to add to Karl Colley's opener on 16 minutes, with Dave Cockerill firing in the fourth on 73 minutes.

The result leaves them with their heads just about above water in 18th, with the one-point deduction for playing Nigel Danby 'illegally' on the opening day now showing.

Tadcaster Albion came from behind to beat Worsbrough Bridge 3-2 away in NCEL division one.

Craig Wilkinson scored first for Bridge within the opening five minutes but Greg Anderson levelled just before half-time and Steve Malloy and Steve Ward added second-half scores to make it 3-1, before a late Shane Kelsey consolation three minutes from time.
