HARROGATE scored five tries for the second game in a row but remain without a win in National Two.
They launched a stirring fight-back from 29-5 down to outscore Orrell in the try stakes, but by then had given two silly ones away and were victims of a wicked bounce for another as they lost 32-29.
Their cause was not helped by lack of a proven goal-kicker in the absence of injured Kiwi stand-off Chris Brown.
'Gate were 29-5 down before they began to compete. Tries from Warren Spragg and Chris Briers came with Harro-gate tuned-out and, in bet-ween, Spragg scored off a lucky bounce from a speculative kick, and Sam Reay shot through a huge midfield gap.
All Harrogate had to show for their efforts was a Scott Wilson drive-over try but when Wilson rumbled over again with half an hour left, the fight-back began as Mark Erven scored following a jinking break by Mike Aspinall.
John Armstrong dropped a goal for Orrell but Phil Williams' first try for 'Gate was followed by one for Aspinall. Mark Chester drop-kicked the extras but the final whistle went before another attack could be mounted.
