I'D like to take the opportunity to thank the various correspondents who have written in to point out how small a problem the new twice-weekly rubbish collection will be for me.
Having been part of a family of four (with two small children), for a while now I was under the impression that I had a very good idea how much rubbish we produced during the course of a week, but apparently I have been deluding myself.
Obviously, experiencing such a family unit was blinding me to the truth and what I really needed to do was base my estimations on the amount of rubbish produced by two adults living alone.
I'd like to thank the couples who wrote in for clearing that up for me. I can sleep easy now, safe in the knowledge that my bin will not overflow.
