POTTER Group chairman and founder Derrick Potter has appointed Matthew Lamb to be the group's new managing director in a bid to rapidly expand the £17 million turnover transport and storage logistics company.
Mr Lamb, 39, will preside over Potters' five locations, including Selby which has its own rail spur, Ripon head office, Droitwich in Worcester, which specialises in storing hazardous chemicals, and other rail linked depots at Ely, Cambridge and Knowsley, Merseyside.
The appointment comes as The Potter Group has yet again reached the finals in two categories of the 2005 Evening Press Business Awards - Large Business of the Year and Best Environmental Company.
Married with two children, Mr Lamb is a member of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport and lives near York.
