SECOND-ROWER Andy Jackson ran home a 65-yard try for New Earswick All Blacks U16s - but it was just a consolation with his side already beaten 26-10 by Skirlaugh Bulls.

Pat Smith put Earswick ahead early on with Jack Sinclair adding the two. But then Skirlaugh used the slope to run in three unanswered tries to lead 16-6 at half-time despite strong defence by Sinclair and Dan Lofthouse.

Second rows Gareth Swanson and Jackson pounded the Hull line in the second half but it was Skirlaugh who added two more tries before good work by Ted Young set Jackson on his way for his consolation effort.

An exciting first half helped York Acorn U14s beat Castleford Lock Lane 22-18.

Tries from man-of the-match Stuart Leeke (2) and Josh Peacock, plus three Anthony Chilton conversions put Acorn 18-6 up at the break.

Although the visitors staged a revival and closed to within a converted score, some strong running earned Mathew Winn a deserved decisive score.

Jordan Hyde, Josh Mortimer, Peacock and Dave Jefferson excelled in defence.

Josh Skilbeck scored a try with the last play of the game to give Selby Warriors Under 13s a 46-42 victory over Drighlington.

Selby led 28-10 at half-time but five unanswered tries after the interval saw the West Yorkshire side get their noses in front.

The Warriors hit back when Jacob Scales completed his hat-trick and captain Stevie Bell also scored only for Drighlington to regain the lead two minutes from the end. But Skilbeck had the final say with his second of the match.

Alistair Cullen had opened the scoring for Selby with his first try for the club and there were conversions from Sharpe (5) and Javen Coopeland.

Selby Warriors U11s upped their unbeaten run to three games with a fine 50-24 win over Rodley Rockets.

It was 18-18 at half-time but the Warriors cut loose after the break. Man-of-the match Pegg led the way with four tries, while Gaunt, top tackler EJ, coach's choice Spooner and Millin also crossed. Pegg, Guant, Howard Speight, Spooner, player of the month Stringer and Millin added goals.

Two-try Liam Forshaw was man of the match as Heworth U10s battled well against Oulton, who had more players. Jonathan Rawsthorne added a goal and kicked well throughout, while James Dunhill was top tackler, Baxter Hackett was most improved player and the front row of Richard Ashton, Keiran Cooper and Joseph Jackson worked tirelessly.
