WHEN our wheelie bins were introduced in Shipton-by-Beningbrough collections began as once a fortnight. In Florida, which has the climate we can soon expect, they collect twice a week.
I was posted a flyer when our wheelie bin came, about two years ago now, suggesting if I wanted my bin cleaned I should ring a number. This I did and a machine made a note of me three times. I have heard no more about it.
I really do recycle all the possible items including plastic, which I drive to Easingwold when I have a load, and glass, cans and paper.
With five adults living here I still fill my bin and if I do not leave the bin right on the pavement, even if it is at arm's length, the binmen leave it. The waste collection operation is a farce here.
