YORK'S Under-11 schools' football team went seven up against their hapless Scarborough counterparts.

They got off to a flying start after a mistake by the Scarborough goalkeeper enabled Elliot Frodsham to poke the ball home from close range.

Another 'keeping error allowed Josh Stilgoe to score before man-of-the-match Paul Winterburn, who terrorised Scarborough's left flank, got his name on the scoresheet with a right-foot shot.

Dan Wilson made it 4-0 and was unlucky when a left-foot drive came off the bar and appeared to drop over the goal-line but was not given.

Stilgoe added his second after good work by Josh Poulter and Winterburn.

Sean Evans claimed the sixth before Scarborough eventually pulled a goal back.

However, it was fitting that York should have the final word when Winterburn's measured cross was headed in by Wilson.

Tom Allen was commanding at the heart of York's midfield, while Poulter also shone at right-back.
