WHAT a wonderful week we have just had in York at the Festival Of Food And Drink.
Autumn always seems a natural time to turn one's attention to the fruits and produce of the land - and the sea, of course - and what a feast for eyes and tastebuds it has been.
The atmosphere was great and the events superbly organised. I felt the magnetic pull almost daily just to see what was going on.
I have discovered new local sources for many foods I have been searching for without, of course, neglecting Newgate market which is a great source of local, quality produce.
Why can't we have a weekly farmer's market in York? So well done York for a fabulous festival but we need these things on a more regular basis.
Let's give Tesco some competition before they start delivering even our babies.
