I WRITE in response to Philip Roe's letter 'Memorial due' (September 26).
He may like to know there is a Bomber Command Memorial. It was unveiled five or ten years ago, on Plymouth Hoe where it overlooks the Sound.
In a report or letter from a week or so ago about the unveiling of the monument to The Few in London it was said the Lancaster was one of the aircraft flown by that small band of pilots.
The Few flew Hurricanes and Spitfires in the main and the Lancaster was a bomber aircraft still to enter RAF service in 1940.
