Well, it may be all right for the developers.
"Can't the developers build all the shops they want in Piccadilly?"
Yes, but the brief suggests they can also build some smaller units on the west bank of the Foss.
"We can walk behind the shops to see the river, surely?"
Maybe not, because they say there's no need for a walkway on both banks. Strange, when they want the river to be a focal area. Seems like the shops will be pushed back to the brink.
"So from the open space the developers have left us, we have a view of the shops?"
Yes, that must be the council's view of enhancement.
"Do we have to have shops there?" No, the units might be let to a travel agent, a caf, a nail studio...
