THE most controversial topic at the moment is wheelie bins and changes to refuse collection.
It is not just the fact that households have to have several wheelie bins, but these are not going to be emptied weekly but fortnightly. Unbelievable!
Much animosity and concern about the health issues caused by having refuse lying uncollected for too long and encouraging rats is understandable.
Why suddenly do we need more than one wheelie bin? The 21st century is considered the age of technology; encouraging change for progress and improving living standards.
Is this proposed alteration by the council good or bad?
I always thought the city council was the voice of the people, acting in accordance with their best interests.
We have such a beautiful historical city which has always been maintained at the highest standards.
Let us not spoil this record.
