I Support the council's efforts to reduce the amount of waste being sent to landfill, and I'm disappointed by your Bin It! campaign.

I am amazed people can overfill their bin on a weekly basis and seem happy to let others know that they generate that amount of rubbish. I should be embarrassed!

As responsible citizens we all have to realise the impact of our behaviour and act accordingly.

My household of two adults and two children produces a one-third full bin a week and this is done simply by recycling, composting kitchen waste, and more significantly by reducing the amount of potential waste I bring into the house in the first place by avoiding unnecessarily over-packaged food items.

The packaging may look good on the supermarket shelf but has less appeal once it is tipped in a landfill site.
